Participants will become informed about the oil palm of the West Arican rain forest. Indigenous to West Africa, by selective breeding, the kernels grew in size over the centuries (like maize in central America) so that the palm tree became as useful to the people as the cedar tree was to indigenous peoples of the North West coast of North America.
