Enlaces entre wikis proporciona un método de acceso directo para vincular a las páginas de otros wikis administrados por la Foundación Wikimedia, incluyendo por ejemplo:

• Wikipedia
• Wikiversity
• Wikibooks
• Wikiquote
• Wictionary|Wictionario
• Mediawiki

Esta método abreviado proporciona una manera fácil de vincular a las páginas de destino de las versiones en Inglés de estos wikis sin tener que escribir la URL completa de la página en cuestión. Esta es una función especial del software Mediawiki que potencia a WikiEducator y a los sitios wiki mencionadas anteriormente. Desde el punto de vista técnico, esta característica permite a estos enlaces externos a ser tratados como un enlace interno en WikiEducator.

The interwiki link method is shorter and more convenient once you are familiar with adding the correct prefix.

Creating an interwiki link using the Rich Text toolbar

Try using the rich text editor insert/edit link button to create interwiki links in your sandbox.<br><br> Click on the link to your user page (remember it's located in the top right of the screen) and open your sandbox page (For example My sandbox). Type the word "Dog" in the edit preview window Highlight the word "Dog" which we will interlink to the corresponding page in Wikipedia Click on the insert/edit link button of the Rich Text Editor type w:Dog (note that the wiki is case sensitive) Practice creating a few other interwiki links my visiting the external wiki to find a target page and use the shorthand syntax table above for the relevant address to use.
